The Space and Aeronautics Activity Centre (S.A.A.C) of Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College (JGEC) is a student-driven initiative formed by a group of passionate and visionary learners who dream of reaching space one day. Our mission is to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical innovation in the fields of Space Science, Aeronautics, and Rocketry. At S.A.A.C, we provide a platform where students from all departments can explore, experiment, and engineer real-world aerospace projects — from model rocket propulsion and flight guidance systems to UAV design, RC aircrafts, and satellite communication prototypes. Alongside these hands-on projects, our members also engage in advanced research and have successfully published papers in reputed international conferences and journals, contributing to innovations in aerospace engineering, antenna design, and communication systems. We draw inspiration from legends like Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Nambi Narayanan, and Vikram Sarabhai, and strive to nurture curiosity and innovation among future engineers. Through workshops, hackathons, seminars, and research projects, members gain both technical expertise and teamwork experience in a truly interdisciplinary environment.
